All About Me

My name is Davina and I'm a qualified Canine Therapist with a BSc Canine Therapy degree from Writtle University College. I have a background of working in the care sector but have always loved and owned dogs. Wanting a career change I studied at Writtle to complete my degree and train in both Hydrotherapy and Massage therapy.
So why Canine Therapy?
In March 2017 I started a rehabilitation journey with my then 4-year-old Beagle Charlie. Charlie and I enjoy the Sport of Canicross and as far as I was concerned my boy had injured his right leg. Now at this time, I had some knowledge of dogs but I had totally failed in knowing what was wrong with Charlie. I needed help and this also regarded his weight despite him being on a never-ending diet!
So I requested a referral to our local Canine Hydrotherapy Centre and this was where our Journey together began and my journey to Writtle!
Charlie has now undergone 2 successful TPLO operations and we are now managing his Bilateral hip dysplasia. He attends regular hydrotherapy and massage and still competes in Canicross. His weight is also heading in the right direction, but he is still on a diet!
My little inspiration is my best friend and I would do anything for him. This passion and my desire to work with and help dogs is what made me determined to become a Canine Therapist and give all dogs the same chance of an active normal life like my boy.

At Positive Paws, my aim is to make therapy accessible and affordable for all. When I treat your dogs I treat a member of your family and my wish is to help you as a family.
